The interview for text translation work was disappointing. It is a very temporary and part time role, listening to and transcribing short bursts of monologue from mobile phone messages for developing voice recognition software. The amount of coding to cover background noises, music, words badly pronounced, etc., was horrible.
I was asked to bring my own quite bulky and heavy computer in so they could see what I use and consider me for working from home even though they have several free computers in the offices. Sentences are stripped of punctuation, capital letters, etc., even though I was tested on those even to get the interview / test.
The computer said I got the answers right but the manager checking my answers found a few errors anyway. I now have to wait for a senior manager who wasn’t even there today reads my answers. It seemed a lot of faffing around for a job with such a short shelf life so I’m not too bothered if they reject me.
In the evening I was out with science fiction friends. Which was lovely and lively. I had vouchers for a free meal in the pub too so I used those.

I was never good at job interviews. I don't sell myself very well and often the job is just something that promises pay for me as my only real incentive to try for it. Trying to convince an employer I'm passionate for their line of work is outside my acting range

@arthurchappell I can, but I'm a bit high energy for where i live, so I freak people out, since everyone here moves on southern slow time. I have to find something that at least is a tiny bit interesting though.

@Jessicalynnt yes it does need some enthusiasm for the roles and many jobs I apply to are just those I'm sent to by my welfare advisors with an any job will do as long as you get one attitude.

For such a rigorous process you think they would offer more than just a short gig. It can not be financially prudent for them to go through this interview / qualificaiton process so often.
