to train or not to train

Dogs. Do you work with your dogs? Attempt to communicate and teach them things? Is it fun and enjoyable for you, the human, to play with your pups? One of our dogs knew how to retrieve when she was eight weeks old. The other dog knew nothing. She did not know how to look at a human. She was one of eleven unwanted pups so no humans paid much attention to her. I had worked with our other dog so I decided that this dog, too, maybe could learn to have fun playing ball. At first it looked like Leah pup had no aptitude for bringing me a ball. Then gradually as I got excited over the idea of tossing the ball, she started to look at me. She started to trust and to want to see what I was doing. First she brought the ball to me once in that week then pretty soon she brought it to me twice and though she does not have a super drive to play, she will for a while.

All dogs should be trained. You do not want them jumping all over other people. they need to be able to be walked on a leash to.

But do you enjoy teaching them? Its true that the owner human needs more training than the dog in most cases.
