I thought this was from years ago but...

It wasn't. I happened upon this news channel with a documentary on about sex trafficking. A young girl who had started in the prostitution industry at age 14 was on talking about how she had come to be in it. She had been introduced to a young man by her friend. After talking to this guy in the park all afternoon she got in the car with him and thought she was being given a ride home. Instead she was taken to his home. His family was there and he left for a period of time. She tried to leave at one point but was not allowed to go out their front door. This began her experience. She just wasn't allowed to leave and was beaten if she didn't do as they wanted her to do. She had sex with men she didn't even know all day, every day 365 days a year. Can you believe it? How many kids hang out at the park? How many kids could have this very same thing happen to them and not have the opportunity to even call their families and let them know they are still alive? This documentary was from last year. 2014. It is unknown how many are actually in the industry of prostitution. It could be anywhere from 4,000 to 100,000 young women in the U.S. I thought that the under cover cops and federal agents working on this had a better handle on it. I did a article about three years ago on sex exploitation of young people in the U.S. and these stats haven't even changed. At least they know what they don't know I guess. This is scary. What are your thoughts on the subject?

I understand that it is not only in the US but in just about every Country. I wonder if some are not being paid off to look the other way since the stats you say have remained the same.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Not just in the Asian countries. Rght here. Could be happening right down the street. That is what is so scary and horrific.

When I started reading this I imaagined it was in a country rather than U.S. That is extremely frightening.

Yes indeed and this is exactly why I report on such things. We need to be aware.

Even those in power visit these people. This profession is here to stay. The sad part however is that children are in it.

@celticeagle Bill Clinton comes to mind. What we know about him is only a tip of the iceberg.

It really is scary to know that this could happen to any young person we know at any time.

I knew about it, but I don't know where it is prevalent, and I'm guessing cities and such, since that would be hard to get away with in small towns.

Not necessarily because they would just crab and move on.

@OneOfMany .....and they could do that. Then just keep them isolated in a room somewhere and you'd never know they are around.

@celticeagle Okay. I know it would be difficult to get away with it in my area, unless they were brought in from the outside.
