Organic Gardening - Why Does Everyone Think It's BIO?

At times I get tired of explaining the difference between organic gardening and BIO. BIO is a product that you still have to purchase. One time I was looking for an organic way to keep bugs off my cabbage. The store gave me a BIO product. When I read the label it still had pesticides. Finally I opted for purchasing fish oil and fresh garlic to make my own. Now that's organic.

That is all I use in my garden. I can't stand the taste of food laced with BIO products or other products. I make my own fertilizer and I plant different plants next to each other to control the bugs. My garden is 100% organic.

Ahhh @poehere so you're into companion planting, I've much to learn about that but I still have a ways to go before the trees I've planted are tall enough to give the shade I need to grow most herbs or veggies. However, I am organic, no pesticides or herbisides here.

Actually I live in a hot arid climate so many of the plants that seem normal to you don't do well here due to the lack of moisture @poehere as for giving dogs greens, be careful, dogs are carnivores and their digestive system can't digest greens like we can. You might want to ask a canine nutritionist about which plants a dog can safely digest, I personally only give mine carrots, cranberrys and pumpkin, I've never given them herbs.

There are bugs that you can kill with your own hands. I don“t use any sort of pesticide in my veggie patch (that means more holes in the leaves), but it paid off while I was in chemo. My oncologist FORBID fresh veggies, except for the ones I grew.

@poehere Every now and then, I think about cooking a slug risotto.
Slugs are eatable, as you know. Why is it that we can eat something out of an expensive can and not use up what we have around?

I don't have that here for me so what I do is throw a lot of rotten fruit and plants and veggies in a blender with some water and it makes the best plant food you ever saw.
