2011 Marvel – Spoiler Alerts
Many superheroes quit after getting a thankless raw deal, and then find out they are needed too much to really stay retired. It’s a standard plot most of them experience, sometimes more than once.
For Matt (Daredevil) Murdoch, the big resignation story comes after a tragic battle left many innocent bi-standers dead as well as the bad guys. He wanders off across the Texas Badlands desert trying to lose himself.
In a town ruled by corrupt cops, he has the inevitable epiphany and becomes Daredevil again, kicking seven bells out of the bad guys and reclaiming his status as Marvel’s closest rival to DC’s Batman.
A story so predictable that you know the ending from panel one. Well drawn, with good character presentation, but story telling so formulaic it hurts.

Oh yes, but all too often it is virtually the same one. I've seen it with Superman, Batman, Iron Man, and various members of The Fantastic Four. The only one who has no choice is the Hulk.
