People keep bugging you to accept them on your Skype account. Each day I receive hundreds of request asking me to accept some unknown person to my account. You can tell by the messages they send you they are not who they claim to be. Once you check your blocked list you have 30 different email address and the same names spelled 30 different ways. Too bad Skype isn’t like a few of the social media account. All you can do is block the person and report the SPAM. It gets old because within 10 minutes they have a new email address and are at it again. Has this ever happened to you? I have Skype for my work and to keep in touch with my family. I am the only one living in French Polynesia Tahiti and the rest of my family lives either in America or in Europe. I enjoy the freedom of Skype and getting to talk with them live for free. I also use Skype for my business because I work with a lot of people from around the world. How do you deal with this? I know you can only block them and report them. But before you block them and report them have you ever wanted to write to them and tell them to leave you alone? What good will that do? They don’t care – all they want is to talk with you and I’m not interested. What are your feeling about people like this? Image source: flickr creative commons

Just like you I also received requests for my skype account. I just ignore them. If I have time I delete the request but I did not block them. This time, whenever I open my skype, there are only few friend requests to ignore. Maybe they just became tired of requesting they just stop.

@poehere I only open skype once in awhile. That is when I want to chat with my son who is away from me. Maybe it would be different if I am online for longer periods. I observed that there are requesters who kept on coming back even if I already deleted them for the nth time.

Yah for awhile they do stop. Then all of a sudden they come in waves again. I get tired of deleting and blocking them.

I haven't noticed too many repeat offenders on Skype, but I certainly get a lot of junk requests for friendship or money. A waste of time for these pests as I don't need any more friends and don't have any money.

Hi Ann yes I have wanted to write to them but instead I have blocked them as it is very annoying there should be something there to make yourself private so that strangers can not see it

I have about skype but I have not used it actually. I did not know that strangers also communicate with you on skype. It is really a headache to deal with strangers requesting you to connect without any specific reason.

You are so right. May of the request start off with Hello dear how are you today then go on and have misspelled words and poor grammar. You know this isn't some captain in the military stationed overseas.
