Is Religion molded according to convenience?

I have seen people from the same religion do many things differently as per they seem fit. So my question is that is religion really a true thing wit certain restrictions and rules or is it just a matter of people doing what they like?

Religion to me is a man made institution, although many believers may not agree with me.It is a necessary institution that has its own function in a society because it regulates human behavior.Since it is man made it is bound to be viewed differently by different people..

I hate it when they do it. There is only one religion as far as I know. Don't hurt, and don't be hurt.

religion is open to wide interpretation because as a guide to morality it is often far too contrary - my own values are not religious as I am now an atheist but people will find justification in scripture for just about anything they want to do.

There's an old saying in Judaism: "Two Jews, three opinions." I personally believe that the reason we have so many different religions and denominations within those religions is because people interpret things differently. I heard one Christian minister refer to it as "majoring in minors," and if you look at the reason various Christian denominations split it was usually over an inconsequential detail. Additionally, and this is sad to say, but a lot of people seem to believe that they can do anything they want to do, then go to the confessional or ask God for forgiveness and that makes it "all right." I don't believe that way, but many do.

Religion has many rules depending on what they believe and they would want their members to follow it that's why we have discrimination to those that are not believing with us. It's a shame to see this going on, all over the world. that's why we have wars and hatred. because of this. AS a Christian, I don't consider myself involved with a religion. I have a relationship with my God.
