auto fright night

Typical Saturday evening: climb into the car and take Mom to church. The car decided it just could not quite get up the oomph to turn its engine over. Oh cripes. We all climbed out of the car. Hubby directed me to go get the battery charger. I found a way to pull a power cord over to the car and hubby hooked it up to the battery. In a few minutes of anxious waiting and wondering yes! the car's engine powered up. Its ten miles each way to the outskirts of town then over to where Mom's church is. We dropped her off then headed to a car parts place. A nice guy hooked up an electrical gizmo to the car and in a second gave his verdict: its the alternator. You need a new one. We have the battery charger. That will keep us straight until Monday morning. I'll find a mechanic and have the problem fixed. Now if only I trusted a mechanic. I haven't found one that I totally trust here. I am grateful we all are fine and not sitting on the side of the very dark road.

It is so hard to trust mechanic but we have no choice. We have had the same one for many years and are pleased with his work
