Election Woes

No matter who wins the US election, there has got to be a return to honesty and fairness, especially in the media. The panic about keeping the American people in the dark because the truth would upset the apple cart too much is lunacy. People are fed up with that attitude and now that we have the internet, the truth can go viral in a hurry.
What do you think about the way the media has reported on the Presidential debates?
(Just so you know, even though I live in Canada -- married a Canadian -- I am an American citizen and do vote in the Presidential election.)

It's not only the politicians either. The media skews things such as who actually won the Democratic debate. Those in the media that have given generous donations to Hillary Clinton's campaign claim she won hands down, even though the polls on their own websites during and after the debate showed the audience gave Bernie Sanders 75% of the vote. Strange if you ask me, regardless of which candidate you support.

@Sheilamarie78 The media are not as free as we think, they receive money from the different political parties so they are always partial and write what the politics ask them to write.

It's a dirty business, for sure. I guess I keep open the hope that with the ability to sidestep the mainstream media, more truth will surface, but things are so entrenched I don't expect miracles.

I agree with you. The big media stations are owned by big boys and only tell us what they want us to believe, plus the way they sensationalize meaningless stories about celebrities in order to take people's attention away from the real problems and issues. It's depressing.

We even get to hear about the US candidates and all over here too and quite frankly I am not keen listening to it!

I am not an American but whatever happens to America affects the whole world I believe so I always pray that the people choose the best. I pray your people will not just believe lies.

I don't think that politicians will ever be "honest". They are too ingrained in the greedy, you scratch my back and I will scratch yours with money exchanging hands under tables. I just don't trust them. I am tired of the three ring circus that we see today in American politics.
