Why Do You Hold Back?

Why would you hold back your true strengths? Isn't it because you are comfortable in the world you know and don't want it to break apart? For years I have held back because I don't want the world to shatter around me, but for a chick to emerge from the egg it must destroy the shell. If I continue holding back, won't I never hatch? It's not something we look forward to, the consequences of shattering all safety. But nothing changes if we hold back forever.

I don't mind staying in my shell. I think I will.

It's the safe approach.

I think the only reason I would hold back my true strength is when I know I might hurt someone in the process.

That's why I'm holding back. Things go bad directions even when I do hold back!

depends on what the strength is, sometimes they are better being quietly downplayed, only there when needed

Mine is a world altering strength. If I use my creativity the result is better than if I use my energy.

Like @Rollo1 I am happy to stay in my shell. I know what my strengths are, but I don't feel the need to use them all the time.

If I could shatter the world in a safe way I would do it!
