My oldest grandson is now 18 and graduated high school and is going to college in New Jersey. I saw this little guy, (now he is way taller than I am and all of the family), arrive in this world. His dad and I were there when he said hello and started his life.
He has always been a great kid with the best personality and sense of humor. As he was getting older he decided he wanted to play hockey. We lived in the northeast and only had ice sometimes. He taught himself to roller blade on the street in front of my house and from there he taught himself to ice skate.
Once he got in high school he went to a local ice rink and taught himself to really skate and play around with the hockey kids. He got a job there teaching little kids to skate.
Now he started college and is in his first year and made the ice hockey team. We are all so proud of him and he is loving every minute of it. He cannot stop thanking us for helping him live his dream.
This is what being a grandparent is all about.

Thank you so much. These boys are the greatest and take care of us and I know they will continue to. My daughter is the same way. I am truly blessed with my family
