This may be one for the UK readers so apologies to anyone not familiar with the UK version of ‘The Apprentice’.
So the new series has started in the UK and, once more, I am totally appalled by the sycophantic toadying that goes on in that board-room!
"Yes Lord Sugar, No Lord Sugar, you're so right Lord Sugar, just open your cheeks a bit more so I can get my nose in Lord Sugar."
These people have no shame and seemingly no backbone what so ever.
I feel that I should apply for next year’s programme and give Lord Sugar a few home truths. I would wait until the first time he criticised me in the boardroom and then just calmly say,
"Look here Alan! You have a face like a sun-dried scrotum. You're just a barrow-boy who struck lucky and here's my big problem with you and your tawdry TV show. I don't work for you. Therefore you can't actually fire me. Quite frankly someone who can't even grasp that business basic is not really someone I'm prepared to go into partnership with. I'm off."
Just watch those TV offers role in!
Or maybe not!

I haven't seen any of this series but every year I get irritated that they are encouraging the kind of behaviour that just won't play well in business. Nobody wants to hire these preening prima donnas who abuse their team mates and then suck up to Lord Sugar.

@WorDazza The only British show I have seen most of the episodes to and have enjoyed is Keeping up appearances.

I stopped watching this years ago as it became very repetitive. Even the title isn't appropriate any more because the winner does not become The Apprentice. What is more entertaining is reading Katie Hopkins tweets during each episode. She is a bit like marmite, but occasionally I do find myself agreeing with her outlook on life. God help me!

Wouldn't disagree with that. See my response to @Poppylicious above.

I'm assuming your Lord Sugar is similar to our Donald Trump who is always firing someone in the board room in our American version of the Apprentice?

@WorDazza LOL at your description of your Lord Sugar. Our Donald (aka your Lord Sugar) is running for president....as they say, truth is stranger than fiction

@Marilynda1225 Talking of the truth being stranger than fiction there is the classic line in the 1967 film 'In Like Flint' where Flint discovers the president has been replaced by an actor and says with surprise "An actor as President?". It was as if they knew what was to come!!

From what I saw of it she was an absolute train wreck. What you have to bear in mind is that this is no longer a competition based on the process. Old scrotum features has already seen their business plans so he will know who he definitely doesn't want. These people will go as soon as they show any sign of weakness. And then it's all about entertainment value. Keep the watch-able people in as long as possible. It is an entertainment programme after all.

@WorDazza I don't get the 'seeing the business plan beforehand' thing ... it makes it so obviously biased. They should just go back to it being someone who he wants to work with, rather than make lots more dosh from.

I have watched one episode of this in the early days, but would never watch it again. Your appraisal of the contestants' attitudes is sadly accurate.
You are also right about that arrogant ill mannered Alan Sugar. He has no concept of business ethics and expects the contestants to behave in the same way, which I would absolutely refuse.

I find the whole idea of such a show appalling - I go for real interviews where the interviewers seem to expect that is how to conduct business too.

lol It might make you feel good but no doubt toddying is what they are told to do. Your little rant would be on the editing floor I am afraid.
