Today I put on one of my favourite pieces of jewellery for summer. My charm bracelet. It is not made of gold or diamonds, but it cheers me up. It has round little crystals, some wooden beads, a small silver little cross, small silver sandals, made by a friend with the words 'made with heart and sole', inscribed on the bottom of them, a small silver fish from my trip to the coast, and a big bauble heart with a pink rose on it, plus a few other charms that make me smile. It also jingle jangles merrily each time I move my wrist. I have taken a photo of it to share with you all. Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery, that is not made of gold or diamonds? I know my Dad always wears his watch that has a big leather strap, that my Mom bought him. So, everyone, what is your favourite piece of jewellery? Or do you not like wearing jewellery at all?

As it is pretty hard to describe one of my favorite jewels, I took a picture. It's a very simple necklace, made in copper and enamel.

That's a really lovely bracelet Catherine. I especially like the sandals, so sweet. I'm not a great one for jewellery, but do love earrings. I haven't got a particular favourite though.

@bluesa I think I must have about 50 pairs. I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 64, when my daughter in law bought me some, not realising. (I always wore clip-ons). So I felt obliged to get them done as they were lovely earrings.

Thank you, Janet. I am also extra fond of the little sandals. Bracelets are my go to jewellery item, because I can only wear clip on earrings (my ears would not heal after piercing, they said my ear lobes are too thick) and necklaces seem to not sit comfortably around my neck. You must have a wonderful collection of earrings.

In my younger days I had a whole lot of artificial jewellery. I used to wear bangles almost covering my forehand. Your bracelet is quite charming what with all those trinkets put together.

I also when I was young, used to wear a lot of bracelets, they were called glitter bangles, they were thin bangles and I would wear about ten :-). Thank you, each little trinket on it is a memory of something.

I have several pieces of jewelry which are my favorites. I never take off my wedding and engagement rings. the engagement ring is a diamond one. I have a pair of diamond earrings which are so pretty and a gift from my husband.. i love them.. A ring from my mother - a beautiful diamond again all are my favorites. I also have a saffire bracelet set in gold which I love, this was the last gift from my father on my twelfth birthday. He passed on the next year before my birthday. It doesn't fit me anymore.. I still have it.

Those sound like some stunning pieces, especially since they are wrapped in love. I am sorry your Dad passed on, while you were so young, I can only imagine how much you cherish that bracelet from him.

That is lovely and the sandles are so cute. My favorite braclet is one my sister gave to me. She gave me two so I could use the beads in my art but I loved them so much I kept it to wear and gave the other to my best friend. I love the colors.

I hardly ever wear any jewellery, and mine is not expensive.. I prefer shawls with some color that makes me look a bit healthier and maybe some kind of brooch to brighten up my clothes. I changed the gold rings of my mom and my own wedding rings to a nice necklace and later gave it to my niece.. I made a couple of bracelets on a sort of school and they were made in a style that is used in Lapland, Northern Sweden. It is Sami craft and here is a site with some instructions.. I am not sure if I have ever used them..

I don't have expensive jewelry either. I always discourage my husband when he wants to give me expensive ones. I prefer to wear simple jewelry and yes, shawls of various colors I also do love... for they add glamour

I am always cooking or baking, so rings get in the way, and I rarely wear them.

I have no jewelry. I wear no jewelry. I am not against it. I'm just fine without it. When I was married I always wore my wedding ring.

its lovely - I dont wear much - only my wedding/engagement ring which is one now, and my two copper/brass bracelets, plus my gold cross around my next - its very fine - BUT when i dress up, I have plenty of pretty earings , pearls and marbies, clip on as I dont have holes - as well as some Kruger coins pendants and some pearls my granny gave me. My girls love to wear dress jewelry - on special days

Thank you, Lany. I also wear clip on earings, I have to, because my ear lobes are too thick and so when I tried to pierce my ears they would not heal. You have a wonderful collection by the sounds of it, especially those pearls from your Gran, priceless.

I like jewelry that goes with my outfits, it need not always be gold or diamond or silver. Sometimes wooden earrings, or beaded necklace goes the best with it. I find your charm bracelet.....well.....very charming

Your bracelet appears awesome and it does not contain any gold or diamond but wooden beads etc., yet it looks beautiful. Moreover, it has been made by your friends, so it becomes special for you. I am not much found of jewelry or say wearing rings or gold chains etc., though I love to wear wrist watch to keep myself update about time.

I make my own cheap jewellery and one of my favourite pieces is a necklace which has a shell with a small pearl attached inside. the shell I found and the pearl was from a broken necklace. I want to try my hand at bracelets and I like the one you photographed very much, it is full of memories.

The only jewelry I have left is a diamond ring made for me in 1956--I was told if I ever took it off I would die so I still have it though I sold all my 'things' a decade ago.
