Our realty company paid gave us free passes to a local corn maze this weekend. They purchased tickets for their renters, set up a booth with snacks and drinks and even brought their ReMax hot air balloon out. We enjoyed a day of traipsing through the corn maze, going on a hay ride, picking a pumpkin, petting farm animals (cow, goat, pig, horse and calf) and the kids had lots of things to play on. There was a corn hut that was filled with dry corn kernels that the kids got to jump around in. They also had a huge 20X40 foot air mattress type thing to bounce on. Two huge slides made out of a huge corrugated pipe. The tallest one was 2 stories tall and the short one was 1 story tall. There was a couple of climbing obstacles and other various playground equipment. They had made little carts out of plastic 55 gallon drums, put wheels on them and rode the kids around in them. Of course the major event was the hay ride and the pumpkin patch. The kids had so much fun and so did we! We were a bit disappointed that we did not get to ride in the hot air balloon but the wind was blowing too hard. Keith and the kids took a picture in the basket. We had a great day out and it did not cost us one dime.

It must have been great to get away from what seemed to be so different from a city life.

Do you work for that real estate company? We have one in town and they do the balloon festival both spring and fall. They probably also do things downtown with a balloon as I've seen the fire from afar when visiting with my mom down the road. Our area also does hay rides and other things, but I've never gone, so I don't know what all they do.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've never been in a corn maze. I read an article about how corn maze designs are made using GPS technology these days. Some of them were pretty amazing!

I'm glad that you all had a great time. We went to a fall festive at Yankee candle this past weekend and it had a lot of the same stuff and it was completely free. We all had a great time as well.

We have tons of corn mazes around, but I have no desire to walk thru one, they would have to give me a wheelchair to walk that much.

That does sound like a great day out, and how wonderful that it did not cost you a cent, here a day out can be so expensive.

Neat! There's a local pumpkin patch we tend to visit this time of year that has a hayride through the woods and a corn maze. The hayride costs money, but the corn maze is free. We haven't been this year, and might not make it at this point as we're pretty busy with band and stuff. If we're lucky we might make it to the Halloween party on Saturday... but then again we might not.

My whole family gets together for an outing such as this and it's so much fun to enjoy the hayrides, corn maze etc. My grandchildren have a blast and there's enough for us old folks to enjoy too. Glad you had a fun "free" day
