Should I? Or should I not?

As I mentioned in a previous post/discussion, I enjoy "meditating" by going out on my balcony and refinishing vintage loudspeakers. Basically, I put some music on, go out there and sand, treat the wood with hot water, and feel relaxed.
I have a few papers graded and am thinking of going out there and doing a little work on some small 1960s Scott speakers I have here. It's a beautiful cool, quiet night. Should I do it?
The image shows the one of the speakers as I was working on it the other day. Right now, it's dark out, but there's a light on my balcony.
Papers? Or wood-working meditation?

@Rosekitty I wonder what brand they are! Most of the older ones ('60s and early '70s) have real wood veneer on them. But most of the later big ones had vinyl faux-wood on them. Sounds like the younguns don't care, as long as they can BLAST!

This depends upon your goal. I taught students to understand priorities by telling them my number one goal in life was to "get a life". So grading papers, while important to them, was less so to me. I always had them done in a timely manner, but never let doing so get in the way of going to the movies.

I'm pretty good at having a life AND getting student papers back to them next class period (class only meets twice a week). Grading papers isn't entirely unlike visiting MyLot. A little bit here, a little bit there. Last night, I had band practice (having a life). No papers graded. But right now, I could flop down on my bed and do two or three. I think I have seven left to do by Monday.

@TheHorse Sounds like you have a system that works for you. Routines make tasks easier to accomplish.

I think if you do the mediation first you will do a better job on the papers. Do both

I find making this is very relaxing. Newspapers sometimes just irritate me.
