It's almost as if there was a full moon

What do I mean by that? Supposedly the full moon makes people do or say strange things. I've read some strange things on here today that's for sure. I also had a big decision about a friend of mine. She is strange, and she sorta angered me in an e-mail today and it got me to thinking. She is always putting me down. If I say I love lettuce she gives me a 100 reasons why I should eat kale. I told her about my husband's experience with the flu shot and she gave me a lecture on why she and her husband don't get metals injected into their skin. She's all organic and grows all her own stuff to fill her freezer for the next year. She buys very little in the grocery store. She is also about 80 pounds soaking wet and looks anorexic to me. But its the lectures that get me. If I tell her about something that we are doing, she asks me 100 questions and talks to me like I'm stupid and gives me all the reasons I should do it her way. I've decided I'm finished, she's really not a friend. We only see each other twice a year, they live 2 1/2 hours from us. So that's why I feel almost as if there was a full moon..... photo:

I sure do, years ago maybe not, but I'm old and don't need the aggravation.

Sounds like someone you would not want to see on a daily basis!

We knew each other back in 2003, she was our realtor and we lost touch over the years, now I remember why.

She sounds pretty dense to me. I have friends that we do not do things the same, and we respect each other, at least most of the time. You have made a good life for yourself, and she has made the life she wants for herself. She should respect you, but if not, distance is a marvelous cure.

She always touted herself as far above me socially. She has no clue who I really am I don't think. And she can drag a story on for days..... I feel so much better just venting this!

That sounds like a lot of loneliness and unhappiness to me. She is scared that she will cry if she remains silent. She is yearning for somebody to understand her without her telling them. Usually, people with big problems who do not know where to start telling their woes tend to talk out of nervousness.

The last thing this person is is nervous. She is a know it all and she tells it like that.

My MIL is 95 and when she tells a story it drags on and on and on - this person I'm speaking of does the same thing..it gives her the stage all the time.

@Jessicalynnt That's my husband's option - just be cordial but keep in simple and offer no opinions.

@AbbyGreenhill sounds like it's time to exit stage right and refuse to give her an audience. Or just say, that's nice, and never offer an opinion of your own.

I guess that 'friend' of yours is obsessed with correcting people. She does the same to everyone I think. Maybe you are not the only one who gets frustrated.

i'm a coward. instead of agreeing or disagreeing, i just keep asking questions along the lines of so how do you do that, why do you think that is, what did they tell you, what do you plan to do, etc. but, yeah, she does seem self-righteous.

I have a friend that only eats organic too and she can be annoying when it comes to trying to jam her opinion on it down my throat. But for other issues she's a good friend. Sorry that your friend is so judgmental and puts you down. You certainly don't need that negativity in your life

I have distanced myself from people who talk down and not respect me as a person. I feel better too. No, she is not really a friend.

At first when we reconnected she was nice as can be...then as time went one she went back to her old ways.
