Kindles are funny?

"If you want to read or shop on your kindle while continuing to charge over usb, please keep the USB cable attached , but eject your kindle from your computer." Am I missing something here? Am I dense or something? I'm just not sure I get this really. How can it continue to charge if it's not hooked to any power? This isn't a solar powered cable by any means. Is it supposed to charge from the electricity that still runs through it, atleast for a few moments? The message above about reading and charging the kindle is the display screen that appears when I charge my kindle. Now I did once unplug the kindle from the computer, but it did not continue to charge. So here I am asking if I am missing something or if this is just Kindle's idea of a joke on the blondes like myself. For those that have kindles, and charge theirs via the USB cable included, does yours continue to charge if you unplug it from the computer but not the kindle itself? Does this message appear on your kindle when you charge it via USB? My kindle is the voyager. Maybe it's just a message that appears on it, or maybe it's for all kindles that can be charged via USB. Honestly, I suppose it doesn't matter. I try to charge my kindle when I am doing something else anyway, like cooking, or eating. I just thought it was a funny display message for the kindle to have since obviously you can not charge it if it's unplugged from the power source.

The more I read abot Kindles, the more unsure I become about buying one. I´m still in the age of paper books piling over the night table

It took me a long time to come around and buy one. About a year ago I started reading books via subscription services online. I switched over to the "kindle unlimited" service not too long ago, and so started using the kindle via my PC much more often. It just made more sense to buy the kindle, where I can relax and read anywhere, and also multi-task on the laptop if need be.

I suppose they left a few words out when they wrote that up? It certainly makes no sense to me.
