I believe this happened in Canada. Did anyone hear of this police officer that repeatedly ran over a family's pet German Shepherd? Then he shot it. He thought it was a coyote.
I would think most places would have better animal control policies?
And I have seen coyotes, they do not look like German Shepherds but maybe in the dark?

No, German Shepherds don't look anything like coyotes. This is just the last in a far too long list of abuses by police against pets.

There is so much wrong here. (I didn't see the report.) Shooting in the dark. Was the animal rabid- slathering at the mouth, leaping at the officer's throat? Shepherds do not look like coyotes. Not at all. Coyotes are out at night a lot. My little Cattle Dog Sally looks like a fox but so what? Foxes and coyotes are animals not vermin to be wiped out.

It is disturbing on so many levels. The coyotes are hungry and their homes are being destroyed. The animal was described as a nice family pet. Below is another link:

@Pattitude German shepherds are in the working class of dogs. They want to help humans. This is just horrible.

@sallypup I totally agree, I would be devastated if that was my dog, and I would not be quiet about it, that is for sure!
