I mucked up

I went to a scenic spot a few days ago for a rendezvous with my friend after a few years. This was a back to back trip after my four day jaunt. I had everything packed and checked before I jumped into the car. On route I wanted to take some pictures and that was when I discovered that I had left my camera behind.
I am never happy with taking pictures on my phone. I missed an opportunity to get some great pictures. However, my friend had a nice camera and I hope at least I will have some decent pictures of our rendezvous.
I wish I had taken my camera.. I could have had some great pictures to work with. Have you ever mucked up like this? Do you like taking pictures on your phone?

I haven't had an actual camera-camera in ummm about 10 years. I simply use my phone, for I always have it with me.

@sofssu They sometimes leave a lot to be desired. But most all of my pictures is for me personally so I don't mind at all.

@TexanTornado I do use the pictures on some photography sites .. I regularly enter a competition in my husbands office. I haven't won any prizes yet but have been given special awards for them once. There are professional photographers i have to compete with there.

@TexanTornado Hmm I guess if I didn't have one I wouldn't be so finicky.. I don't really ;like the quality of the pictures on the phone.

i've a dumb phone. 'tis jest a phone - no camera, no surfin' the net. i'm'n the hunt fer a more compact camera 's the one i've got's purty spendy, bulky, heavy 'n dislikes dusts 'n moisture. i've missed many a photo op, e'en with camera in tow. by the time i find a place to pull o'er, get the camera case, put it together, that 'moment' 'tis usually gone.
hopefully yer friend'll share those pics with ya to keep in yer memoirs.

@crazyhorseladycx That is so true.. There is so much adjusting and aligning to do.. but I am happy with it.. The pictures are worth it. My friend will reach her home in a week so I expect her to share her picture any time after that. she knew how i felt about leaving my camera behind.

Ooohhh no...., that's the worst thing you could have forgotten.... ( well for me it would have been) lol... thank goodness there are so many ways of sharing digital images these days..... I don't mind using my phone, but the resolution is not very high so you can be a bit limited as to what you can do with it...., but, it's better than nothing.....

@sueznewz2 Yes its better than having nothing.. But somehow my heart was not in it.. You can never playaround with those pictures because of the poor resolution.

I prefer taking pictures on my camera when it's working nicely. Unfortunately with three kids, two cats, and a dog my cameras have both found their way falling onto the floor so they don't always want to work nicely. I use my phone for when I don't want to carry the camera and it takes decent enough pictures most of the time, I just won't zoom in with it.

i seriously am so mad at myself that i never take my nice camera anywhere anymore. i need to get mine charged. my phone takes good pictures like as long as they are just of people, up close, but the scenic ones or the sports or the night i need my nice camera

@jillybean1222 So true.. Phone cameras can only do so much.. I am not a big portrait fan. I love carrying my camera and the extra lenses to capture nature.

Oh! I hope your friend was able to give you the shots you wanted. Me? Am ok with my cp shots. I also find my cp too handy than bringing my camera on trips or occasions for a much-needed souvenir pics. But, my kids still prefer their cameras, esp that with a "zoom".

I have had such disappointments several times. The New Zealand/Australia trip was a failure with regard to taking pictures as my camera let me down.

@allknowing I hate that.. I always carry a few batteries and data cards to prevent such mishaps.. but when you forget your camera bag .. you can do pretty little.
