A cap with a story

Mom and I visited a new to our area department store today. Winter caps and stocking hats hung in a vast array of color. And yet there was no story. Just generic cuteness and soft utility.
Yesterday I picked up Mom from the senior center. She had a new to her multi colored hat in her hand. I asked her about it. She said she had bought it at the center's thrift store "for a buck." I said she could have gotten a discount. She said she knew the center needed the money so when the cashier said she could have the cap for 30 cents, Mom said no. She'd give them a dollar instead.
The cap with a story. I like that. The bonus: the cap looks like someone sat down and made it.

Your Mother is a precious lady.
How nice of her to do that.

I love that story, too. I bet your mom looks good in the cap, too!

Thinking about it, I realized that this is just like kids that grow their own vegetables- they'll eat them then cause they grew the greens themselves. Same with Mom- she found the hat and had a little fun buying it so now she'll wear it even if it does mess her hair up.
