So what am I so afraid of ... {who sung that?} I ran myself a bath earlier. I fancied a lovely long soak, with bubbles and my latest read {Finders Keepers by Stephen King}. I walked away for a smattering of minutes and upon my return I discovered that the bath had filled up with cold bubbles. Hmmm ... I pondered. I went into the airing cupboard and felt the water tank. Cold. I went downstairs and ran the kitchen tap. Cold. I popped the heating on. The heating didn't come on. Uhoh. I had to mentally prepare myself for a phone call which I never made. I love the internet. Having logged into my British Gas Homecare account I was given the option of an engineer coming out today. Oh. Em. Gee. Less than two hours later the engineer knocked on the door. He fixed my heating and hot water, gave me my annual service {which was booked for the beginning of December} and bled a few radiators. I know that some people don't like British Gas, but even they have to admit that was pretty good customer service. I also know that some people think paying for Homecare is a waste of money, but I pay it purely so that I know if I need help, I get help, and I don't have to worry about finding a biggish lump sum somewhere to pay for it. Today, British Gas, I love you. Tomorrow I may not, if you didn't do a good enough job today. And at least I'm warm and cosy! {I succumbed, it was too cold to wait till November to put the heating on.} *smile*

That was David Cassidy and The Partridge Family (consisting of mainly David Cassidy and step-mom Shirley Jones). They were a gas, too, man.

I'm glad yo got it fixed, thanks to British gas. One morning some years ago, woke to a cold house, something in the boiler had gone, not sure what, anyway, phone them and they were out within an hour or so and fixed it in no time.

That is great service, it's a good job you pay for Homecare.
