That was actually incompetent, insincere, indolent, and inefficient. My husband receives shipments often almost daily for his job. They are delivered at times by UPS and other times by FedEx. Yesterday he stopped in at the only neighbor, about something else, and was given a package that was misdelivered. I know they are on time constraints, and our numbers are not really bright on our house, but they are in two places on our house. I still can sort of understand that. He received an e mail message on work e mail that a package was delivered today, at a time when we were here and was signed for. He went all over this town looking to see if it was delivered E instead of W. Finally went to the library. He was sent to another house, no one was there. Back to the library. The librarian told him that the person who signed for the package works at a C-store out on the highway. A mile and a half from our house. They did not notice until the driver left that it was not theirs. It turns out this was the second delivery of ours that they had. So three misdeliveries in three days. FedEx is starting an investigation. I have seen and talked to four different FedEx drivers who have successfully found our house this month. Rest assured everyone, the busy package season is upon us, and your gifts and business are in the hands of people who do not care if they get it right. That fills me with confidence, how about you?

I have also noticed that the mail no longer comes every day, pretty sure they just skip days. I say this because I put my mail out at 5am, so I KNOW I didnt miss them, check the next am, and it's still there (on weekdays)

I always heard that they were not obligated to pick up, only to deliver. If you have a delivery they are to pick up what you have to go.

@GardenGerty I wish I knew for certain, some bills have to get out pretty fast, so I might have to drop stuff off in town or something

Hummm, makes me think I'd better hold online shopping unless I can have it delivered to the store instead. I do that with the petsmart orders and some of the wally orders.

If you have had success in the past with the stores it may be okay. I know we just moved here, but it seems that they just did not try today. It turns out UPS delivered the one to the neighbors.

I guess moving doesn't help @GardenGerty my drivers now me, yeah, I own them Ally loves to chase cars that drive by, thankfully I have a fenced yard, and one driver likes to play the whole rev the engine and pretend to go with her, it's so funny to watch.

@GardenGerty Oh yes I certainly would have done as it would have had to be cancelled and I would have had to have a new one sent

How could a store a mile and a half away be anything close to where you live? I agree, they just don't care anymore.

Yeah, I wondered that myself. It is on Highway 77 at 5th street. We can see Highway 77 from our house but we are on 8th street which is an exit off of Highway 77.

That's awful, and it's also awful that the neighbor didn't bother to bring it over right away, or sooner than just letting it sit there. Are you saying they had another package sitting there too, or just that it needed to be retrieved at an earlier date? Sounds like that should be the first place your husband looks for delivered packages that don't make it to your home.

Actually, I understand about the neighbor and he would have brought it over. The other packages were at a gas station/convenience store out on the highway. They did not have a phone number for us. They signed thinking it was for their business.

@GardenGerty Oh, I misunderstood. I thought it was the neighbor that signed for the package. I get mail for my neighbors sometimes and I always hope that if someone gets my mail they bring it over for checks come in our mail sometimes when our customers aren't home when we work there.

Wow scary. Here on the islands there the packages go from the airport to the office and you pick them up. No delivery service here on the islands.

It would take some getting used to, but then you were responsible if it gets missed.

@GardenGerty In large towns this can't happen because of all the packages that come and go from there. Here on the island we have a very nice system and they call us when our packages arrive. I live further away from town so normally they don't deliver to me so I have no problem going to pick up my packages there.

the one thing I never really liked about ups is that if we were not home they would giveour package to the next door neighbors even when we asked themn to l avc it onf the air conditoner unit top in our fenced in front yard. Also they had left huge packages for our next door neighbor un it C . I had to drag this one huge box I found out it was a new TV then the neighbor was snotty with me for waking him from his nap;.took the huge tv inside andhedid not even thank me.

Usually if it is merchandise there is a tracking number, right? I hope all goes well.

That is very frustrating. Especially since it affects your husband's job in a major way. If he doesn't have the inventory he has potential unhappy customers, and fewer sells. I hope that this all gets sorted out before the holiday season. Hey was it not Fedex whom last year had TWO trucks have crashes that caused damaged merchandise?

I do not remember, but probably yes, it was FedEx with crashes. Hubby gets signage, and coupons and not merchandise but he does need to get it.

But why would someone sign for something that obviously doesn't have their name on it? There is a two part issue.

This person signed believing it was something they ordered, and the driver left before she read the label. She should have read first, true. We have talked to FedEx.

You have to hope the person who got your mail is honest or you will not get something that you paid for. We get the wrong mail from the mail man all the time.

My husband gets a lot of packages delivered here also, but we have a DNS, do not sign sticker on the front of the house that they just have to scan. We always get great service, I hope that yours improves.

If this kept happening to me, I would probably remedy at least a possible problem you referred to, and that is your address that you said was not very bright. I would buy some stickon numbers for my mailbox (if you have one on the street) and repaint or replace the numbers on the house with gold or deep black numbers. I would make sure they weren't obscured by trees or bushes. I have to find addresses all the time in my job as a home health worker. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have gone up and down the street because their numbers were faded, too small, or hiding behind shrubs. Nothing on mailboxes doesn't help. Over the door or on the side, or on the mailbox are the two obvious places they look. If that doesn't resolve it, then the problem rests with the delivery people.

How frustrating it must be to have to track down your own delivered package. Hope they can resolve this problem so that you get your packages at your own house
