With Halloween upon us, there are a lot of stories and articles on the web about, witches, ghouls, zombies and more. I just read a very informative article about "Banshee", and how it evolved from a faerie in the 1800's that foretold death and sat with families during the grieving process into a modern day ugly wretched ghoul that kidnaps children and murders people. The banshee is a ghostly spirit, that has origins in Europe, specifically the areas of Ireland, Scotland and England. I find it rather contrary that when it hit the Americas it was evil in nature and in Europe it was considered a helping spirit or ghost that only appeared at the foretelling of death and stayed until the grieving process of the family members was over. Happy Halloween!

My first childhood cat was called Banshee; he was black and howled all the way home when we picked him up.

I like that for a name for a cat, as they are so quiet sometimes and can sneak up on you and then when they blitz and howl ,so comical

@sherryeb He was a very lovely little black cat. My current little black cat is called Bagheera after the black panther in the Jungle Book.
