I just read an article about George Clooney and his wife Amal adopting another dog from The Humane Society.
They had adopted their other dog Louie as a rescue also and now they looked online to see what dogs were in their area up for adoption and found Millie a Basset Hound.
They brought Louie to see if he would get along with Millie and since they had a good time and played well together they decided that Millie would now be their dog.
This goes to show that the Rich can also go and find a dog at a Humane Society.

Maybe we can get the population down a bit if the rich will also adopt from the Humane Society. It would seem that the Clooneys aren't so loony after all.

When the rich have kind hearts, they really can make a lot of difference to the world.
Even if they donate just 1% of their income, that is a great deal more than our donations.
I think the dogs adopted by them are very fortunate.
They have a large space to run around, and enough food to eat.

Here in my country, only the breed dogs get a better chance in getting adopted. Well, there's rarely a breed dog for adoption anyway. Most local dogs die in shelters because nobody wants them because they are not 'beautiful'.

@Marcyaz Indeed they are. And very loving as well. I can still remember my first 'guardian' dog, Bamba, she was a local dog and I used to roll around the dirt with her when I was a kid. That's how local dogs have a spot in my heart, thanks to Bamba.

@Marcyaz I would have gotten a rescue dog before we found Daisy. But Bella is not always adult dog friendly but she is puppy friendly. She can be dog aggressive if the other dog is an alpha too. But, everything worked out for the best because I wouldn't trade Daisy for anything.

I read about that Marcy.
Good for the Clooneys for setting a good example.
Shelter dogs are good for everyone wanting an animal.

I always wondered, what is the difference between the Humane Society and any other pound/shelter?

Humane Society is usually a county-specific shelter, sometimes with it's own animal control officers and often has low cost clinics, fundraisers, etc. A Shelter is usually run by all volunteers and in some places has the pets in Foster homes til they are adopted. This is my take on the difference.
