Your Most Memorable Scar

I have this keloid scar on my right knee. The size is like the tip of my pinky. I am proud I have that because it reminds me of my happy childhood. I am fond of playing of “Prikidam 1-2-3”. I do not know why it was named like that. Haha! It is game that requires the opposing team to catch all the other teams member and became their “hostage” for them to take over the other team’s base. How do I get it? When on the heat of the play, you can’t avoid to clash on other player or to be out of balance. The result? Wound on my knee. Well, this is a story that my niece/nephew or my future children will not understand. Because now, their playmate is their tablets/computers. Haha! BORING! Haha! You? What is the most memorable scar you have?

As a child I liked to climb trees. One day I slipped and got a deep gouge in my arm. When I look at the scar I always remember my carefree childhood days.

I have a keloid on my calf from walking into a marquee peg at a village fete when I was about 8 and I have a nice one on my kneecap from falling up the stairs at work. But far and away my best and most important is across the base of my neck from my two thyroid operations to remove the cancer I had. My surgeon is a genius and did a fantastic job.

@boiboing I am hoping you changed your diet already even after the cancer was took out. Please do take care. I know we can fight cancer by eating right food, excercise, proper sleeping time and prayer. :)

I don't have too many scars.. but I have great memories of my childhood and the games we played then. You are right about how boring these games on tablets and play stations can get.

Nothing nice to see, a 30 cm. long scar on my right arm. I broke my right elbow when I was 6 year old. Due to a mistake of the doctor, too long to explain, I needed surgery because I had lost the use of my arm. Now I can use my right arm and hand, but the scar is there to remember that day.

It is hard to say what is the most memorable. Like you, I played outside and that would be when I would get hurt, but I would just get up and go about my business of playing some more.

@wiLLmaH happy to talk of it - random assault by a bully I'd stood up to previously - he walked in a shop where I was being served in front of the shop owner, my sister and another customer and just coldly slashed me there and then. The shop owner grabbed him and called the police and an ambulance for me

I have a scar on the corner of my left knee cap where a bully boy pushed me on the outside stairs at school. I think of him every time I see it and hope he ended up a happier adult than he was as a child.

I used to play that too @wiLLmaH but we call it "Agawang base." Very true for the new generation, haven't play those kind of games. Every summer I usually play with my kids in front of our house "patintero" fortunately most of my scars are not so visible now

I agree today's kids don't have the fun we did by being active. My sister bit me when she was around 4 and i still have the scar. She's in her 60's and I bring it up often in our conversations.

I was hitten by our own pet dogs. Twice. One each. We have 4 dogs, two of them hates me. Even I am the one who give them food and shower them. Haha. One dog bit when I am singing while he is sleeping. The other one ran after me then bit me on when I do not want him to go out of our gate. Haha. Both bit me on my butt.

Here in the Philippines it's called "Agawan Base" or "shokok" in my dialect. It's one of my favorite traditional Filipino game. In this generation, I haven't seen those games being played on the streets anymore. Most kids stay at home and play with their gadgets.

In Manila we call it prikidam 1-2-3. I do not know why it is called that way. Haha. I am pretty boyish and quite fast to ran that is why I am the in charge to chase the boys. :)
