Homecoming Tailgate a Bust

This past Saturday was homecoming for the University of Florida, and the Gators played a home game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Being the avid Gator fan that I am--and living in Gainesville just down the street from the university--I never miss the opportunity to tailgate. However, the game this week was a noon game, and that usually means little to no tailgate action before kickoff. Making it even more challenging was that the Gators were 19 point favorites over Vandy, which meant it was not considered a "big" game. As a result, most people either decided to sleep in late and go directly to the game, or save all their tailgating for after the game. But, being the loyal tailgater I am, I went ahead and set up the tailgate at 9:00am, but I really shouldn't have wasted my time. Only two other "regulars" showed up to the tailgate, and both of them came by right before kickoff. So, overall, it was a bust. But at least I can say that I continued my streak of consecutive tailgates that stretches all the way back to 1992!

it was too damn hot to want to tailgate after the game! Such is the peril of living life in Florida!

@moffittjc Okay, I hear you on that one. Well, like I said, there is always time for a fun BBQ.
