How does the Suggestions tab work? / myLot

I am curious, I have basically commented on a few of the same users posts. I am still trying to figure this all out but my computer keeps freezing. I was going through the suggestions tab, and answering discussions. I have had the time yesterday and today to try and catch up on everything. I got going through them to realize they are from the same 2 or 3 users. But it says so and so suggests such and such discussion. I am wondering if they suggest it to you, or suggest it to everyone (if that makes sense).

Sometimes we suggest to a friend because we thought it would be an interesting discussion to that person or sometimes that person could answer queries raised by the discussion poster which I don't know know to answer.
