My friend was just over and I was trying to type away but just having her sitting in the same room distracted me. I had to stop until she left to start up again. She was borrowing a few cooking supplies as she ran out while she was in the middle of the prep.

I can myLot around hubby, most of the time, unless he wants to show me something online (that I probably have seen). If people respect what I am doing I can myLot.

Very true if someone doesn't keep disturbing you.

@ricki_911 Yep we do tend to get distracted when someone is around.

I completely agree. I guess normally I am just puttering alone, in the dark and quiet. So when someone is around I tend to get distracted.

It much depends who is around me. Sometimes people just go to what they are doing while others need desperatly to talk while I am trying to concentrate.

marguicha, when trying to concentrate it is hard to even focus on what someone is saying.

@ricki_911 You definitely will lose your train of thought when people are talking.

I can't concentrate when someone is here and talking away expecting me to listen to them.

I don't try to write while others are in the room or, I am being visited by someone. I sometimes ask them to wait a minute while I finish a thought and then put it aside until the visit is over. This doesn't happen very often so I don't have to worry about it.

@ricki_911,I live in an old house that was built by my grandfather. The house is not spacious enough for a huge family.I don't have a separate study for myself and I have to interact here with my family members around me.They do their works and I do mine.I have developed the habit of not getting disturbed by others' presence.
