Writers, Authors, and Publishers Fair

I had a wonderful day today and sold a book in the process. I only had two left from the original 35 that had been sent to me three years ago from the publisher.
Enough about me.
This wonderful event was held at a local library. There were several writers groups in attendance, and three speaking sessions. The first was the keynote speaker who talked about how important it is to be disciplined about writing. Disciplined as in making time every day and just do it.
For those of you doing NANOWRIMO one thing she said and what is emphasized during the event is to just write don't edit, don't look back but keep going forward. There is plenty of time for the editing and revision when you have the first draft finished.
The second session was a panel of publishers and editors. I talked to one of them and will be in contact in the next couple weeks. Even though my first three books are already published, I can still fix any problems with them and do a new publishing of them.
I know there will be a price to pay, but it will be worth it to have it edited and published correctly. Not that my first three books aren't good, the fact that the first two have 5 star reviews on them speaks for themselves. I have no reviews yet for the third book.
The third session was poetry reading. It was okay. Yes, I write poetry, but somehow I didn't understand a couple of the poems read. Those I understood were very good.
So that is how I spent four and a half hours of my day.
How was your day? Anything interesting for a Saturday?

I did. The people I talked to at the fair also do self-publishing and editing and from what I've already talked to them about, I'm excited to learn more. My only hang up is the cost. With my limited income I might not be able to do anything at all, but we'll see. I hope so.

You're jealous when you spent a whole week in Melbourne at a writer's conference? I'm jealous. Think of all the networking you did that week and now you have a grant for your historic novel you're working on. I'm the jealous one, though yesterday was fabulous. I'll talk over the idea of a grant with the people I networked with when they call to talk about my work.

That's a great achievement, congratulations! The fair sounds like an exciting event. I should check if there's any such event where I live. It would be nice to attend.

@cindiowens It always feels like old home week when I see familiar faces. I've been here less than a month and like it better than Bubblews. I think it's the way the site is designed as a discussion format instead of just commenting, which never seems to happen on the posts there.
I never thought I'd say that about Bubblews because I've always liked it and the people there, but since the people there are now here, what's not to like?

I did and I'm hoping the library hosts it again next year.

I write Christian fiction in several genre's. The series I have published with one left to go and still working on, is historical fiction.

I did go back and insert a paragraph, or a note to come back later and fix blahblahblah here. To help me later, but I have been good to not edit

How wonderful! You must be doing a wonderful job with your writing. I self-published six books using Create Space. I have sold some of all of them, and one has a five star rating. My most popular book, however, is "Your Guide to a Fabulous Las Vegas Wedding." I sell several copies a month ... often all over the world.

@just4him - Thank you! I have been very happy with how well my books have done. I never thought I would be the author of six books!

I'm sure you can find one something you did to take the boredom away.
