Hello Mylotters, There goes social services again, keeping the homeless and jailed people from the streets just for the sake of this single event.. People who were interviewed were deceived by the staff and volunteers believed they could be given free food. When the truth is that they are put there until the event is over. Some people already shouted "were prisoners here" . At least 50 families are put there, hard to believe they are being held there. But I wonder, if the government had more facilities were the homeless could stay and eat free food which they don't in this country. Though some believe they are lucky they got shelter, they just don't feel like being held against their will. Not a referral link. sorry it's not translated in english

This happened in the Philippines? We have a lot of homeless here in the US. Many suffer from mental illness. Some don't want to live in a shelter.

We don't even have a shelter, unless it's for abandoned kids. Unlike in the US the homeless here don't get food stamps, they die of hunger or commit crime to survive. and this is where corrupt politicians get their power from.

@Letranknight2015 How do the corrupt politicians get power from the homeless? They have no power to share!

@TheHorse because some of them have been registered to vote, and from the way I see it others pay them to vote. I remember one time on a news were registration forms were given in secret.

That was not right to jail them.

Hello @jstory07 No, it wasn't. because these people have already seen poverty in the Philippines through the internet so there's no point of locking them up and confining them to such places.

I believe it is hard for us to imagine since we are not there. If they could have come and gone it would not have achieved the appearance of less poverty that I am sure was part of the reason behind jailing them.

@GardenGerty they really think it would please the leaders if they have not seen them. they cannever cover it up since the media shows them all the time.
