My husband is jerking around in the kitchen

Before you jump all over me for talking badly about my husband let me explain. He is making beef jerky. He is jerky obsessed with it! He only makes beef jerky unless someone gives him venison. He found a jerky kit online a year ago and after he used all the spices we found them sold individual at Bass Pro. There were many flavors to pick from and he loaded up on them. This is a two-day process: The meat (a hung of beef) gets sliced very thin and coated with spices and sits in the fridge overnight. Tomorrow he will put it in the smoke house for several hours. The smoke house is used to dehydrate the beef. He won't be eating it for a few days but look out when he does. It takes longer to clean up the meat slicer than it does to make the jerky. He keeps him out of my hair! Photo is mine.

Sounds like a fun project for keeping your hubby busy (even if he makes a mess)

I often try to get my grocery store to do that part for me, at the meat counter. And no smoker, but we do love our dehydrator

His smoker works as a smoker or dehydrator and holds more than a dehydrator.

And he has a lot of good jerky to eat for awhile. My oldest son will make it sometimes. Not sure what kind of meat he uses.

I have never come across anyone who made this before. Does he clean up that meat slicer?
