There is a very strange chemical smell coming from my new mattress which is annoying. It is all normal as I read about it online, but it does say it should ease within 7 hours and completely go away in 3 weeks. I do hope it goes as it smells like a chemical experiment gone wrong in my room!!

@gudheart Then maybe you should sleep on the other room if you still have any . But if not , you can maybe use your receiving room for the time being .

lol don't say that!! I hate insects and mites haha. I know it is nothing but the spray or something they put on it to prevent any bed mites and germs getting on it.

I guess you are just going to have to take your time. The smell may abate after time as you say. Or you may get used to it.

Yup it takes time for the smell to go away. Keep the doors and windows open if you can,

maybe you can open the windows to let sunlight in if possible or bring it out to be sunned but just have somebody watch it so it won't be overdone. Sunlight can hasten evaporation and breakdown of some odor forming chemicals.

I have similar experience when I bought my car floor mat. I kept it in open air one full day. Then there is no problem
