Worldwide, people are celebrating Love Theater Day today! Although I don't get to go as much as I'd like, I am a big supporter of the arts and our local theaters. I'm fortunate that the city I live in has several, and as such there is always a wonderful performance going on somewhere. I don't think anyone who has ever been to a theater has left unmoved by the performance. What are some of your most memorable theatrical performances, or what do you like best about theater?

@moffittjc The only performance I have ever seen was The Phantom of the Opera. And I loved it. I had always loved the music from it. “Music of the Night” always gives me chills when I hear it. I like when Michael Crawford sings it. I’d love to see more plays though. Anything grabs my attention easily. Sometimes on TV there are stage plays / musicals. Well actually more like Operas in a different language. I have no clue what is being said or sung but I still enjoy it very much.

I remember the first time I ever attended an opera. It was for a school trip, and I was probably in 7th or 8th grade. I had no idea that operas were conducted in Italian. I thought an opera was just a fancy play with some singing in it. But I remember very vividly when the opera started I was completely mesmerized through the entire thing, even though I had no idea what they were singing! It was beautiful!

There's a play house in a little town about 45 minutes north of us. When I was a kid and living in St. Paul, Mn., my Mom and I went to a theater production of The Odd Couple. The stage was round so you could see all the action going on. Fantastic.

Every time I used to visit New York City (which was very frequently in my younger days), I would always make sure to take in a Broadway show. Over the years, I have probably visited every theater on and off Broadway. I miss those days! We have a great theater here in my city, but nothing beats Broadway!

@moffittjc New York's size makes me nervous but the plays would be an attraction for me for sure.

@sallypup Manhattan's not all that bad, and the subways and taxis can get you anywhere you want to go. There are a bunch of hotels on Broadway, so you could always stay in one of those and then just walk out on the street and take your pick of dozens of different theaters to go to!
