The simple becomes difficult The beauty turns to darkness The voice that speaks over Drowns out the one of reason What was nice turns to revolt That sad state of ignorance Is like a dark cloud of cover The atmosphere is unpleasing The temperature just got cold I see the breath from my mouth The light in the room diminished It’s just now a faded glow Is it a statement to be bold? or to make it all go south? Excises me, are you finished? I cannot comprehend it now The pleasure turned to pain In an instant just like that The mood was just turned off Like a light switch being flicked What is it that you wish to gain? Don’t wait for me to tip my hat You speak just words, only fluff The anger within has been ticked The sadness of the situation Has brought it to a screeching halt The time that has passed Is wasted in thin air You turn it to humiliation No, don’t turn into my fault What was trying to be said is lost Nothing about this was fair Let me end this in my own way I will stop speaking and turn around You continue on if you please But I am done with this interaction It no longer matters what you say My thoughts are nowhere to be found You’ve turned this into a disease it is no longer a conversation Copyright © 2015 Steven Cetta All Rights Reserved Check for all my Poems here: #inertia4poetry Image Credit: CoolText.com Tags: inertia4, Interruption, inertia4poetry

Poetry is such a lovely way to express so many feeling.s I often wondered why they frown on it here. I think it would be wonderful if we could have 1 day a month set aside for poetry and anyone who loves to write could post an original piece such as this. I think many people here would enjoy this one so much.

I don't think it is frowned on here. It is a writing site after all. We can write what we feel. Isn't that what it's all about anyway? I am glad you enjoyed this. I do have many more coming.

@poehere Oh, okay, recipes are not easy to figure out if they are copied form somewhere else. That I get and understand. Personally I don't worry about recipes, so I wouldn't have to worry about that. Okay, so one recipe post, big deal. I am sure you have many more things to write about.

@inertia4 When I first arrived here on the site. I added one. it was deleted and told me it was frowned upon. I never added another one again. I thought it fell under the part of recipes and stuff like this. I did ask and they said they are hard to make sure they aren't copied from another place. I am glad you didn't have any problems with yours but I did with mine. I guess that was why I said what I did.

It has nothing to do with discussions here, that's for sure. It was a disagreement with my girlfriend that sparked this poem. It is as simple as that.

@Rosekitty Okay, I can see that. But I love MyLot and all the interaction I get here. And I do welcome everyones responses. I admire people who leave realistic comments on my posts. Honest and blunt is cool with me.

I never looked at myself as poetic. And I never looked at myself as a poet or even a writer. I just write things that I think about or feel. And get my inspiration from many things.

Especially the last stanza Inertia, I find that more and more that is what is happening in the world today.

I am glad you enjoyed this. I always try to make them interesting. This came to me because of a little disagreement I had with my girlfriend.

This is something I seem to deal with all the time. I try having a conversation and continuously get cut off mid sentence. That is not a good thing. It does irritate me.

Sounds like someone had an argument.

No, not an argument. More like a disagreement. Nothing to get worked up over. But it was frustrating. Although there might be some truth to this poem, it is not entirely true.

This is another good one. It makes you think. You could be talking about arguing. Okay, dissect it for me if I'm wrong. Or not even arguing per se, just discussing.

Well, it is a poem. Yes it is based on arguing. But it is also about disgust and ignorance.

@mommaj Thanks. See, I try and invoke some kind of response to what I write.

Your poem is subliminal. Have you ever read poetry by Ezra Pound? Just thought I would ask.

No, I never have. I will look for Ezra Pound's poetry. Thanks for that. I didn't think this was subliminal though.
