Reset my phone... OMG!

I've been having some problems with the apps on my phone lately. Some of them insist on being updated in order to use them, but they won't update. I don't know why. I go to the update page and nothing happens. This has happened before, and the only thing that would fix it was resetting my phone, which I did, like a month ago. So it looked like that's what I had to do again. So tonight I did that as this time of year it's really important to be able to use my apps, especially the ones that help me earn some money! Well, I forgot about all the stuff on my phone that I needed. I kept my holiday shopping list on my phone, which included all the stuff I've already bought for the kids so I know who needs what and who doesn't need anything at all. So that list is gone and I have to try to remember all the stuff I bought. OMG! I've already been shopping for like 3 weeks now, and was close to done on 2 kids and about half way done with the rest... and all that info is lost now! Worst part is, I can't just go look at what I have because it's all over the place. Some of it is in my bedroom, the stuff that I can't let get too cold, like my daughter's Bath & Body works set and her Microscope with slides and samples. Some of it is in hubby's trunk. Some of it is in my Stow & Go in my van.. I did my best to recreate the list and think I have everything. I'll have to double check it as I wrap the gifts to make sure I didn't forget anything. Of course I lost my contacts and my ringtones and all that stuff too... though my apps are working again and most of them were on my SD card so they downloaded by themselves. I think maybe it's time I just got a new phone!

Another thing that might help because my wife has a lot of phone problems because she overloads it i swear she bombs the phone and it can't keep up. Email the stuff to yourself that is what she does so when she has to reset the phone she can access the list that she had which is a lot of them she always has a little notebook writing stuff down(shes forgetful). Then she just goes through her emails to see what she wrote on her list and then she can edit them as she goes. Hope it helps.

Yeah, I should have done that. If I had waited and let hubby do it he would have made sure I had everything important off the phone before resetting it, but I got impatient and didn't wait.

@katsmeow1213 don't feel bad we have all been there sometimes it gets the best of us and we end up paying the price.

Sounds like you should get one you can back up to your PC.

I could back this one up, I just don't. I should have though of backing it up before I reset it.

Back up. Back up. Back up. Stick it in the cloud. All smartphones have that ability. No reason to lose anything. Also, if your phone is not updating, it may not have enough memory. By resetting, you're clearing everything out by wiping out your info and data and freeing up room to update.

Actually I barely use it, and when the problem started I was deleting some more recent apps to see if they were causing the problem. That happened before when I downloaded a music app and the phone started acting up, got rid of the music app and everything was fine again.
