It’s a Raindrop Day

After a nice rain have you ever gone outside just to look at the leaves on the plants? Have you ever just looked at the raindrops on the leaves and the small branches just waiting to fall? Well, I do. Why, because I love the beauty of this. Just sit back or stand up close and take a good look at the pattern on the leaves and how the raindrops just sit there. Now look at all the small little branches and the raindrop form a small straight line. The tiny drops sit on the small stems totally undisturbed and waiting their turn to fall off. They sit there in a perfect row and one by one they start to get heavy and drop off. What is wonderful is to see the flowers heavy with rain. Some flowers will drop down and shrink up. The raindrops weigh them down and they no longer have the ability to stand up again. Raindrops fascinate me and they are so interesting. What I like the most is the way some people capture these tiny drops of rain. You see these photos all over the place and it is these images that attract people the most. So next time it rain or snows take a look outside. Grab your camera and capture some of nature’s natural beauty. It is relaxing and you’ll stand there for so long just watching that tiny drop grow heavier and heavier and fall to the ground. Image source – my backyard today on Black Friday right after a small down pour I stood at my back door looking into my garden and seeing on the ground how many slugs come out during this time. It interested me so much I had to grab my camera and run outside to capture the small drops waiting to fall to the ground.

I can really understand this. Here it is the same. It is so nice when it rains and after we see the sun and raindrops on all the plants.

You are so welcome. I just I needed a change from all the Black Friday and Thanksgiving talk. I love taking pictures and doing stuff like this. At times I use these pictures to draw from or to paint from. It is nice to change around life and add a few things to life that you don't do on a daily basis.

We have had heavy rains for almost a month now.. The plants looks so tired after the lashing they have received.. It hard to see even one banana leaf full like the one in your picture they are all tattered right now., I love capturing water droplets on my camera.. however, its the last thing on my mind now.

@sofssu Wow that sounds strange. Guess it is better than snow and being snowed in.

I have seen it here when it did this but it was basically because of the heavy winds and rains. Normally when it rains here we don't get this so much here on the islands. I guess it's because it rains off and on and not all at once.

When I lived in the Midwest, one of my favorite things was a light snow that stuck to the even tiniest branches, making every tree a work of art.

@poehere I've only visited the Grand Canyon once, but it was in Summer. The delicacy of snow on tiny branches reminds me of a raindrop balanced on a leaf.

@TheHorse It is nice to look at and so interesting. I love to see this and decided after it rained to go take some pictured. I normally don't do this but the other day I was in the mood to do that. It was fun and so interesting to do.

I have only been able to see snow twice in my life. The most snow I saw is a few years back when I took my parents to the grand canyon the day after Christmas.

What a lovely photo, although I am not a fan of the rain I do understand how important it is that it rains and I do like watching the rain from inside in the warm x

I guess here it doesn't bother me at all. It isn't cold when it rains and also it gives us a lot of nice flowers when it does.

@poehere I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't so cold. When I was in Spain I got stuck in a storm that was like being in the shower it was great x

Our raindrops have turned to little beads of ice, then they melt and fall as drops, or as large pieces of ice. It is warm enough that they will be doing both. It is pretty.

In my back yard after it rains there are worms that come up to the service of the yard and birds that fly down on the yard and eat the worms.

Oh this sounds like fun. it would be neat to take some photos of this one. I took some pictures of slugs who came out today in the rain. It was interesting to see them on the ground. I love rain days and especially what it looks like after the sun comes out. However, today we didn't have any sun.

Yes we do get our down pours here on the islands but for some reason it doesn't seem to last that long. We don't get heavy rains for hours on end, It comes and goes here from time to time.

@poehere - Ms Ann - Just think how things really are with those plants and flowers and raindrops. They do not have to "pretty-up" because they are already more than pretty enough. And they are simply waiting around for some nice person to come along and make photographs of them - or, in the absence of a camera, to just look at them and marvel over their beauty. Good post and great photos. -Gus-

They are beautiful and so nice to stand and look at. it is interesting to see how long one can take to drip drop off a plant or flower.
