In India, the current season is winter. Though I hail from the southern part of India, I like the winter season of the North. From November to March, we have the winter here and the peak winter is during December and January. Making a trip to Shimla during the peak winter is really worth as we get the opportunity to see the snow fall.Only once I got the opportunity to experience snow in Shimla.
Some times we experience zero visibility due to heavy fog -- flights and trains are cancelled or rescheduled during the peak winter. When we think about the hot summer days, winter is far pleasant. In January and February we can also enjoy the colourful winter flowers.
Nights are long and the days are short in this season. In North, most of the marriages are conducted during the winter. We can also see so many birds coming to India from different countries during this season on migration. In the extreme winter, we can see the heaps of ice deposits in Leh, Ladak, Srinagar, and Shimla.
Note: This is the photograph of Dal Lake, Srinagar. I took this photo during last winter when I visited Srinagar.
