Having a superior mindset, can be a distinct advantage to anyone- - - be it in academics, jobs, careers or in any field of human endeavor. It has the possibility of putting you ahead of the others. However, these are not always latent in an individual. These qualities can be imbibed by * Cultivating an 'open' mind. Being open to learning new things from other people's experiences. * Being flexible to change and adapting to one's circumstances. * Keeping one's mind alert and not scattered in multiple directions. * Being focused on one's goals and having clarity of thought. * Lastly, being an honest, kind and compassionate human being. I have stated only five which came to my mind. Can you add some for our readers?

You said them all! . . . But do you think there is one possessing all those good qualities? Prez Bill Clinton is an example of a superior mindset. Just kidding.

@Gabugs Honesty?! That's also the problem of Americans with Hillary! . . By the way, I just love following this current campaign for U.S. president. It is very entertaining . . because of the Donald. If you ask me who would be the best candidate for the presidency - - it is Hillary!

@antonbunot As I said before, these are the qualities one can acquire with consistent practice and determination. I'm not so sure if I could say so of Bill Clinton- - -especially the last one about "honestly."

I would think being teachable would be a good way to having a superior mindset.

Like you said Valerie, to be able to teach a thing or two to others [but not preach!] is indeed a very good thing. It certainly requires a superior mindset. On;y someone not too set in his/her ways can do that. Thanks for this concept.

If someone possesses even any two of them, s/he is a superior human being.

My dear @moondebi I was talking not about a "superior human being", but more importantly about having a superior mindset.

Indeed yes Anna. Thanks for this enlightenment @ladyduck Respect is the core element in all relationships. A person having a superior mindset does not look down upon other people's opinions. Thanks.

I always think that we need to heed just the one commandment. That is the one that says we should do unto others as we'd have them do unto us.
