I need a little help from my friends, please!

I've mentioned several times that I write once a week for a friend's blog. The blog was started more or less as a travel blog. Of course we do venture into other aspects of life. Since this is a busy time of year I'm trying to get a few articles started before my brain dries up from Ho Ho Ho-ing too much.
My question is this:
'If you were to read a travel blog, what type of articles would you be most interested in reading?'
Feel free to mention anything travel related which could be restaurants to hotels to travel mugs!
I may use your ideas in an article but your name will not be used, you will be anonymous don't worry!
Thanks in advance for your help!

As a foodide, I love to read about local food! No travel guide is complete without some recommendation on food.

We love to eat and usually our vacations center around food and I've done hundreds of restaurant reviews over the years...I need to find new restaurants!

I would love to know about the small, not frequently visited or known places, which is up to brim with natural beauty and is perfect for a weekend spending time.

@AbbyGreenhill of course not totally unknown places. What I meant is that most people don't hear much about them because they tour conventional tourist spots. So for people like them, it would be a nice change to read

For me I enjoy learning about the off the main drag places that I might miss if I didn't know that they existed. I also like to read about some ways to save some money while traveling. Every little bit helps. Good luck on your articles.

@AbbyGreenhill You need not talk about the actual cruise trip.
You can write about the forum in the form of a review.
You can also write about finding cruise trips or best time to travel or best cabin to choose etc.

I try to write about things I've experienced and I have never been on a cruise so I don't know much about them. But I'll look into this thanks.

@poehere One thing I learned long ago - to write what you are familiar with - Vegan food has no interest to me. To be honest, doing to much research is counterproductive to what I get paid. This not a high paying assignment by any means. If I was making big bucks like I did writing for a pet food blog then I would not hesitate to do a ton of research.

@AbbyGreenhill That is why writing a vegan post would be good. You don't really have to know about them and that is what the Internet is about. Research. there is a lot of places now who offer some vegan food. This is food cooked in only vegetable oil, no butter, no eggs, no dairy at all. Basically they only eat a lot of pasta, veggies, sauces made from anything that doesn't have dairy in it. They also drink or use a lot of milk products like coconut, soy and stuff like this. It might be interesting to research some on this one.

Because I lived in South Dakota for 29 years I know a lot about the good points of the state I wo uld welcome articles telling about the nice motels in the Black Hills and the great caves in our state to wander, the beautiful Wedding Veil water falls and the Black Hills that deserved to be talked about. People seem to forget So uth Dakota or think only of Mt, Rushmore and there are dozens of other scenic wonders to see in the Black Hills let alone the streams packed with rainbow trout.Fishing is wonderful in the summer in the B lack hills. We need to remind people of the stateof South Dakota.

I understand the Black Hills because I watch QVC and love the Black Hills Gold specials.
Thanks for the South Dakota ideas!

One way of overcoming the massive workload would be probably have a comments box available for readers to response when they find a different experience at the point.

Keeping a blog with that type of detailed information isn't what my friend's blog is able to handle. That would be a lot of work 24/7.

I would be interested in reading about how to experience a new place in a short amount of time. I think that when you travel to a place you've never been, you want an experience, but don't have a lot of time to take it all in. Must see places in specific areas.
Suppose I went to London, of course there is Big Ben, Eye of London, etc. but I want to know from locals what their favorite places are,
