Matched is the first book of a teen book series by: Ally Condie. I finished listening to it on Saturday. I really liked it. I'm now listening to the second book Crossed. The book is like Divergent, Matrix, and Men in Black in one story. Matched is set way in the future. It is about a girl named Cassia. In this future, the Society brainwashing everyone to believe that they can't live without them. They can not think for themselves. They are matched with others and marry that person when they reach 21. Cassia is matched with a childhood friend Zander, but later there is problem in the system where she matched with two boys instead of one. The other boy is Ky. She later finds out that she is part of an experiment to see what she would do with two matches. She falls in love with Ky. They carry pill boxes around with them. (Matrix factor) The red pills usually never taken. They think they die when they take them. But instead when they take the red pill they forget the few minutes before. (Men In Black) They are forced to take the red pill when Ky gets arrested, but Cassia doesn't take it. She is determined to find Ky. I found out on IMDB there is a movie in progress. I can't wait. I think maybe we as a society is becoming like them. It's really sad and scary.
