and our grey tabby, Colbert, is positioned in the window. He is ready to watch Norman, our resident squirrel climb up the limbs of the smaller two trees in the back yard. Norman does this every morning and I announce his climb and then Colbert comes in to watch the squirrel through the window. Sometimes Norman brings his girlfriend for the climb and then Colbert gets really excited. He is watching very intently now and I don't see Norman yet. Hmm.
Do you have such cute animal goings ons in your neck of the woods?
Picture is my daughters collection.

Colbert is smart. He will reach up and turn the knob on the door and let us know he wants in. He sleeps in the bathroom sink.

@LadyDuck ... He is very smart. He jumped up at the door knob and can open doors. We've never had a cat that did this before.

no animals where i am now except for cats and the occasional squirrel.
where i used to live was in a nice big house on a country estate with a deer park and a nearby castle!!!
there we used to have deer in the garden everyday, rabbits, foxes and badgers were regular visitors.
I originally thought this was going to be a historical post about the normans

@celticeagle It is probably a little too busy here for their liking.

we do get squirrels scuttling round and lots of magpies, occasional hedgehogs bats and owls. I have seen a few herons and one morning I had a fox staring at me through the patio glass

Haha a bit like one of our cats who loves to watch the children arrive at school. He sits in the window over looking the entrance of the school.

I bet if you set out something for them to eat this time of year, or a little earlier, they would have to do that foraging for food.

No, our squirrel is our friend and we won't be allowing him to be eaten any time soon.

@celticeagle That is funny. I just got a new puppy late yesterday afternoon. I named her Cheyanne and now she is Dakota's new friend. He is very protective of her and won't leave her alone for very long. It is so cute.

With the screwy weather we are having here I think that the poor squirrels are a little confused.

@celticeagle Just a little? With the weather we're having my son is wearing shorts, short sleeved shirts and a hoodie, maybe. I went to pick him up from work and the employees were outside on break in shirtsleeves, no jackets. You'd think it was early spring as warm as it is here.

Not really. The other cat, Silver, seems to be killer of the trio.

That is so good of you to do. So many people get upset with them because they are tearing up bulbs and such but never think they are doing it find food. If they would set out food then the squirrels wouldn't do that.

@celticeagle They really are and I have one that is very territorial. She will bark at any and everything and it can be so annoying.

I wrote a post on another site about a neighbor's cat who takes a nap EVERY day at 4:30 PM in the window--you can time your watch by him!!
