Its actually all Robin's fault @troyburns . . . . as the first post i read this morning was "It's time to laugh again" Find it - and then add your thoughts. Seeing its my Greek Friday and my thoughts go to a time gone by when Katerina was teaching me some Greek phrases before I actually visited the Greek Isles, I remember her giving me some advise . . . Sto leo yia to kalo sou (which translates to I'm telling you this for your own good) Beware of the TOILETS - dont flush anything! Its hard to handle, but in most places in Greece, you cannot put toilet paper down the toilet (so why is it called toilet paper?), it goes into the bin alongside. ... Eeeeeeeeek - and so it is!! Stelios - is Greek and the name is given to honor St. Stylianos, an orthodox saint, protector of the children just some random information on the Greek Mythology. I hope Katerina is well this week.

I remember the toilet problem in Greece and our friends told us that the problem is that much of Greece’s sewage systems were isntalled by the British betewwn 1930 and 1940. They used small bore pipe-work that simply cannot cope with paper waste. I hope there were at least pedal bins...

@Inlemay I can handle things as long as I get a throne to sit on, TP, and a place to wash my hands, lol

The plumbing in Greece was the one thing that I disliked. Like yourself, it seemed so wrong to me to place used paper in the bin that way.

The plumbing system should be changed to user friendly.

What lovely bits of information here! Especially about the toilet paper. In Egypt you're sometimes handed a couple of bits of toilet paper as you go in the loo as there is none inside.
