Dual Simcard Smartphone:
The initial purpose of phone manufactures to produce their products with dual simcard capability was perhaps to facilitate users who have more than one simcards. When the dual simcard phones were first released, phone users enthusiastically welcame the arrival of the dual simcard mobile phones. The pioneers of dual simcard phones were not the high-end mobile phone products but they were manufacturers of low to middle class of mobile phones.
There has not been official test regarding the performance of dual simcard phones. Do both inserted simcards function equally well in terms of signal strength? A few that I know said the second simcard does not work as well as the main simcard--like low signal strength and the uncapabality to be used for data call.

Here the dual simcard cellphones are quite common. Today people want to separate work and personal life and this is why they like to have dual simcard cellphones so that they can handle it easily. No more problems for the dual simcard cellphones. It works well. My son just has such a cellphone.

I had one of these phones one time. it seems that it had a lot of problems. The main sims card slot would not function correctly and it was necessary to use the second slot. I don't think it's necessary to have this unless you are looking for a way to have a personal phone and business phone. Not sure what other purpose it would serve unless you actually use 2 cell phones at once.
