My Great Nephew Ezra

So very early this morning my niece dropped off her son Ezra. She has to go fill out papers for a new job and has no one to watch him that early. So he is running around the house playing with his truck and babbling. He is just so cute. He is 16 months old and is just a bruiser. I hope she comes up with a babysitter as I don't want to watch him everyday. I raised my kids and I want to go and do when I want to.

Nice to have them for a little while, even nicer to know they go back home.

@marlina yes indeed she started to ask me to babysit him again for almost everyday this week. I had to tell her no. I raised my kids, just me and my husband. We are retired now and want to do what we want to do when we want to. I don't want another full time job.

Thanks I think he is a cutie pie. His mom came and got him. She is starting a new job and wants me to be her babysitter, I told her I could not. I raised my kids, without help from anyone. Now my husband and I are retired, we are going to go when and where we want. Don't want to be tied down.

He is a little doll but as my one day with Jack proved, exhausting.

It was done all wrong. The wee ones just waste all that energy. I need it.

@BelleStarr So could I. His mom is on the way to pick him up now. Only had him for 2 hours. He is such a good boy.

I agree with you! I hope she finds a babysitter. I find many people depend on too many people. I know a lot of places wont hire people who have that young of kids and not a proper babysitter as they arn't reliable.

I'm not sure how it's working out for her, I haven't talked to her since. I just know I'm not doing it. I raised my kids without any help from anyone, me and my husband worked it out. One of was working the other was at home. I would get done with work my husband would go to work. I never had babysitters.

What a cutie pie! But it isn't wise for your niece to look for a job without having put a babysitting service at her disposition. PLEASE do not get into this full time.

@fishtiger58 And I say it's not because they don't think through that you have to do the dirty work for them.

Well I certainly think so, but kids don't think things through these days it seems.

@fishtiger58 I am the same. I have a four year old nephew, a 1 year old niece and a 12 week old niece. The first two are addicted to me when I go over and see them as they see me as a play mate! It is fun but very very tiring lol

Just knowing I am giving him back is a good thing. He has way to much energy for me, but he makes me laugh.

@gudheart Mine are like that as well. They are smart kids and know I spoil them.

It's lovely to have them for short periods. Surely she would have discussed it with you if she wanted you to mind him on a permanent basis.

She already knew I didn't want to. But I could see she was getting ready to ask again. I just don't want to.

I don't blame you at all. The trouble is they need to work , I know plenty of grands looking after their grand kids , it is hard work. He is so cute and looks a real handful.

Thanks, she wasn't happy with me but there's not much I can do about it short of babysitting and that is a no go.

He is a real cutie! I do remember what they are like at that age and they will definitely keep you on your toes.
