Bought a second hand TV

I went downstairs to get the mail today and I saw a notice for someone selling a TV a 50 inch Sony, for 150 dollars. It is an old tv. We went to see it. The guy let it go for 130. We took it. I figure if if we get 2 years out of it, it will be worth it. Do you ever buy secondhand goods?

I typically don't when it comes to electronics, but I have purchased a second hand accessories item before, a purse. The purse was used once by the seller but she still had the authenticity card, box, gift receipt, and packaging looking brand new. However, I prefer to buy secondhand items new with tag for a discounted price.

we are happy with our purchase. Especially since we really did not have the money to a brand new one

I don't buy second hand goods because I am not sure whether the quality is good or not. If it is out of work soon, then the repairment will cost much. Besides, it also wastes the time to get it fixed. So I like to buy brand new goods to avoid any headaches because of the bad quality.

yes but there is a big difference in price and we don't have the money for band new right now. It is not going to be the main tv anyhow

@winterose I understand. Since it is risky, I still don't want to have a try. If I can't afford it, I will save money and wait.

We bought most of our apartment's furnishing second-hand! We only got a couple of items from a local rent-to-own shop, like our washer and dryer and TV's. I love shopping at yard sales and flea-markets. One mans junk is another mans treasure!

most of the time I have been burned by secondhand stuff not working so we were a bit leery but decided to take a chance

@winterose Yea, it's hard to say when dealing with secondhand electronics. I always like to test it out before I buy.

I always did when I lived by myself. I even bought second hand food! It was food bought by restaurants and sold to a real deal place so we could buy it for cheap. I can't do that now because I have no car and no health now.

If I knew of restaurants who did that here I would buy it too.
