Enjoying four-day holiday here

Though it doesn't really matter to a stay-at-home mom, as my husband doesn't need to work, so we can enjoy more family time and be together.
Usually there's only one day off for Christmas, today is Prophet Muhammad's Birthday, it's to be celebrated by Muslims, and it's a public holiday for us as well. After Christmas, there is Saturday and Sunday. Many people will take advantage of the four-day holiday and go travelling, moreover it's school holiday now.
We do not go traveling, as we do not like crowded places. Today, we are going swimming. Though my children don't really know how to swim yet, they always have fun playing in the water.
Though we do not really celebrate Christmas, since my son was young, we started to go to this mall where there is Christmas carols. Though the mall is quite far from where we stay and there are always Christmas events in shopping malls, we do not really enjoy the commercialized events and they are a bit too noisy, so we always like to go to listen to the joyful and cheerful carols. This became our Christmas activity every year.
I'll do my third pregnancy check up on Saturday. Perhaps I will get to know the gender of the baby. It'll be easier for the children to call it baby brother or sister, and they wanted to name the baby.
Other than these, I guess I will be relaxing at home, and perhaps have some mylot time. I wonder if there will be some mylotters here as well.
I guess many mylotters are busy with Christmas celebration. What do you plan to do in this holiday?
Wish everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Here in England Monday will be a Bank Holiday because it qualifies as Boxing Day. The traditional date is still 26th December, but since that lands on a Saturday when many people would not be working the holiday is transferred to the first working day.

@kaka135 Boxing Day may just be a British tradition.
During the Victorian era wealthy people would have many servants such as butler, chauffeur and kitchen staff. These people had to work at Christmas because the owner of the manor would entertain guests. The day after Christmas the staff were usually given a day's holiday and their employer would often give them some presents.
The presents were normally given out in boxes, which was the origin of the term Boxing Day. Even though those days are now in the past, the tradition of the holiday still remains.

Good that the holiday is transferred. Here, we only transfer when the holiday falls on Sunday, as there are still many people working on Saturdays.
I read about Boxing Day, but don't know much about it. I will search for more information. Thanks for mentioning it.
Hope you'll still enjoy your Christmas and holidays, though I read that you might be alone at home. Perhaps mylot here will still give you some cheers and joy.

It seems that your plan for the holiday is so well prepared. We don't have a day off work for Christmas. Fortunately this year the Christmas is on Friday, so at least we can go out at night to see the beautiful Christmas in the mall and then take nice photos nearby. My son looked forward to it since we don't often go out at night because of homework. I especially tell him to finish his homework earlier and then we can have fun outside. Besides, I will secretly give him a Christmas present on behalf of Santa Claus

@kaka135 I think my son didn't really believe the present was from Santa Claus any more. Because last night when he found it, he didn't get a very big surprise. But I am glad that he enjoyed playing the mini remote plane. We are going to go out tonight and we will also bring it outside to play

I am on Christmas break and will be going back to work in January.
Glad you have family traditions that you keep. It makes the bond stronger. Merry Christmas to you as well and Happy New Year. May we all get what is rightfully ours, peace and goodwill.

It doesn't matter to me as well since I am currently unemployed, so it's vacation everyday till I find a job again hehe! But glad your family can have family time/bond as your husband will be home from work!
And too keep us updated on gender, sounds very exciting! Do you plan to do a gender reveal party with your family? Like.. make a cake and inside have blue or pink for the gender? Or a box and fill it with gender (blue or pink) balloons and surprise family/friends?
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

I never thought of the gender reveal party, I didn't know there's such party actually. Is it quite popular in United States?
I don't think we will have the party, we usually just tell others directly. (Quite a boring person)
Hope you'll find a job you like soon! Enjoy your Christmas!

Thanks. Actually I don't know much about the history or stories, we just enjoy the holiday given.
I will have to find out more, as I am sure my son will soon be asking me more questions about those holidays we are enjoying.
Have a nice Christmas Day!
