If there's one thing you can count on with quotes it is that they usually make you stop and think. I like the kind of quotes that make you stop, think, laugh, and say to myself "How true". In this very small collection of quotes I have here my favorite ones. “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.” - Albert Einstein Albert Einstein knew what he was talking about. I wonder what her would say today? “I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.” - Woody Allen I'm with Woody on this. I'm not afraid to die I just don't want to be aware that it is happening. I think there are many among us that would rather die in their sleep than with their eyes wide open. "Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't." - Erica Mann Jong I know myself that many times when I ask for someone's advice that I already know what I should be doing. Erica Mann Jong is absolutely correct in saying that we usually know the answer before we ask. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt." - Abraham Lincoln I believe Abe Lincoln is absolutely correctly. Sometimes we open our mouths when we shouldn't and make fools of ourselves. I know I do.

I have always thought Mark Twain had said the last quote. So I did a little research and found he said something very close to the same thing. Twain said, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool then to open it and remove all doubt." I wonder if he modified something old Abe said or if Abe modified what Twain said.
