Now that I have HughesNet and will soon hook up my wireless router, I will now have the freedom to operate other devices any place in my home. I am not talking cell phone..that's a whole different ball of wax.
I would like to get something that I can use while sitting in front of the TV. Right now if I am waiting for an email I have to get up and come into the office....it's not that far but it would be handy to have something right by me I could use.
I have never paid much attention to tablets or things like that because it would have increased my Verizon bills even higher than they were! Now that I have unlimited with HughesNet it might be time to buy a new toy, I mean device.
It would have to have a much bigger keyboard than a cell phone has!!!!
So, I'm asking you for suggestions. Any and all help and ideas would be appreciated.

The fire HD tablet is only 50 bucks, but that might be to small for you. Check it out on Amazon or Best Buy has it as well.

@AbbyGreenhill My sons both have one they love it but it's too small for me as well. I just prefer my desk top computer. I don't even want a lap top.

@lokisdad Since we can't put referral links in our discussion, I would assume we can't put them in comments??
I don't have anything to sell so I don't think this is for me.

If the 7" Fire tablet is too small for your liking, you might find something like a 10" more agreeable. We sell a pretty inexpensive one by Digiland at Best Buy--it's been flying off the shelves, and I haven't seen a single one come back into the store yet.
Something else to consider is that there are a lot of accessories that pair with tablets these days. We carry a lot of Bluetooth-enabled keyboards, so you could get one of those, hook it up to a small tablet, and boom! No more having to deal with the teeny tiny keyboard.
Of course, having the separate keyboard and screen could be a pain. I'm wondering if something like a 2-in-1 would work well for you. It's basically a tablet with an attached keyboard. I have a little Acer one that I use a lot at home and on the road. It can be used like a laptop or you can detach the keyboard and use it like a tablet. Good battery life, and the one I have runs on Windows 10. It's an Acer similar to the one I'm linking here.
Are you looking for something you can use apps on, too, or pretty much just planning to only read emails or browse the web?

I guess I want to use it similar to my computer. I def. don't want Windows 10 if I can help it! I won't even switch to 10 on my laptop unless I absolutely have to. Right not I'm more confused than ever. I'll have to look at the one you pictured here. Thanks for the info.

@yukimori That's way way more than I want to spend. I'd like to stay under a hundred, since it won't be used all that often.

I have a small tablet that comes in handy but I'd love a new laptop so I wouldn't have to get up to goggle stuff

I love my laptop but its 19 inches and I keep on level surface, not my lap! So I want something smaller.

Virtually any wifi capable tablet would suffice because it would be linked to the router very easily. The keyboard is really your problem. A company called Celluon did manufacture a small laser cube that would link to any Bluetooth device and produce a holographic keyboard, but they were very expensive and therefore withdrawn and would also be difficult to use on an uneven surface.
The best option may be to purchase a tablet and a Bluetooth keyboard as well.

I think a keyboard is necessary. I will check some out and also wait to see what QVC has when they do their specials.
