I wrote a post a couple of days ago called "My Creativity Is On The Prowl". It was about making bath salts. In the comments I said I would look into how to make shower gel after @AbbyGreenhill asked how I would do this. I found several recipes online to help me along my way. I simply googled 'shower gel recipes'. I looked at quite a few of them and they look easy and pretty inexpensive to make. So I believe that I have next years Christmas gifts planned out. I love it when a half baked plan works out.

I will have a look online, I have seen that many use coconut milk, but I know from experience that the coconut milk becomes quickly rancid.

@LadyDuck I had a feeling it might need to be refrigerated even though it didn't say so.

@HazySue The coconut milk after a few days really smells bad.

Glad you found what you need, now I'm curious as to what's in that gel.

@AbbyGreenhill one of them has coconut milk and liquid castile soap. What's nice about it is you can also use it for shampoo and face cleaner. They didn't say if you need to refrigerate it though.

@HazySue I've seen shower gel you had to refrigerate.

Homemade gifts are the best. I thought about making such items too. I may do it next year. My daughter is so allergic to most shower gels and making one that is good for her skin sensitivities would be great.

@amadeo it depends on what recipe you use. When I get to experimenting I will place directions for one or two of my own.

@JudyEv thanks, I think it will work. I will experiment during the year so I can make the best gels and salts I can manage.

Now that sounds very interesting. I will have to look that one up myself. That would be a very good idea for gifts. My son loves doing things like this. WE made face scrub one year. But had to let everyone know that it had a short shelf life.
