Pope Francis in the Philippines

Year 2015 is indeed a great year! From the visitation of Pope Francis to countries like Philippines and US to the recently newly discovered type of rock on the surface of the moon, this year brought unforgettable memories that people around the world will remember even after a decade. All of us shocked with the spreading of news regarding the terror attack in Paris. Many died but the whole world cried. We have been amazed with the heart-shape (for some, it looks like Pluto the dog) landscape discovered this year by NASA's New Horizons. Tragedies, scandals, discoveries......all of these are already part of our history. What news/headlines you will not forget this year?

For me news are so full of the internet, small news, big news, and I did read but since my brain memory is low loading so sometimes i have to use the CC cleaner to trash it. Will be developing a habit of reading news for ideas generation

I don't follow the news, not even on my laptop. I can't remember the last time I saw the news. Anything could happen in the world and I wouldn't know.

@trivia79 to be honest i couldn't care less what is happening in the world, the media blow it all out of proportion anyway, they make a mountain out of a molehill.

For me it would probably be the Paris attacks. It reminded me so much of 9/11 here in the U.S.

@trivia79 I can say that it was probably the worst day of my life and I didn't lose anyone but I felt for everyone who did and I cried so many tears that day.

@simone10 I feel you. I really feel you. Seeing your countrymen suffering from a disaster is heart breaking. I've seen a lot of them here in the Philippines. Well, you know, Philippines is a favorite spot of strong typhoons.

@gr8nana6 Agree! In fact, the root of their acts is the greediness. Greediness to obtain more lands, more resources, and more power. I hate when people can't be satisfied with what they already have. They need to harm others to gain for themselves and it's truly a selfish act.

Yes indeed the Paris attack was horrific but then so was the Airberlin airliner that flew into the side of a mountain killing all those youngsters and others on the plane due to that selfish pilot who was intent on killing himself. Also not forgetting the suffering the people in the middle east are currently going through due to the evils of Daesh. I sincerely hope that peace is reached throughout the world in 2016.

From the standpoint of history, I agree, this was a year people will not soon forget. From a personal standpoint, I'm glad it's over and I can look forward to a clean blank page on a new year. One hopefully better than this year was.

Mars having water is also an interesting discovery in 2015. Also Back to the Future 2 admitting their wrong prediction of 2015 is also a nice one.

I agree! He's doing things never been done by previous Popes before. Online youth conference, selfies, and even kissing the feet of a sick person

From a New Zealand point of view, winning the Rugby World Cup was pretty sweet. SCOTUS' support for gay marriage was, for me, the key news story of the year. And the media's coverage of Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner was the most annoying.
